The brands we carry
We are the authorised sales point in Northern Cyprus for the sleep brands below. All of them can be tried and ordered at our two stores in Nicosia.
King Koil
King Koil is an American mattress manufacturer founded in 1898. What sets it apart is that its mattresses are assessed by an independent board of orthopaedic and chiropractic professionals — one of the few brands that puts back health at the centre of product development.
The range runs from classic spring models to hybrids. In the hybrids the support of the springs sits underneath the softness of the upper layer, giving you both of the properties a single-material mattress makes you choose between.
La-Z-Boy
La-Z-Boy was founded in the United States in 1927 and invented what we now call the recliner. Being the brand that created the category is not a marketing line — the patent on the mechanism the chair still uses belongs to them.
Two technical things set the brand apart. The first is a four-sided one-piece frame: the body is not assembled from separate sections but built as a single frame, which is why the chair is still solid where you put it years later. The second is the patented back mechanism, which locks at sixteen separate positions. Most recliners give you one or two stops between upright and flat; here you can leave the angle wherever you want it.
Every model has a three-stage footrest. The foam is cut separately for each section too — seat, back and arms are not the same density. Chairs built from a single block of foam sag at the seat over time for exactly that reason.
In Cyprus we stock fixed, rocker and power models in single, two- and three-seat bodies. What separates them is the mechanism far more than the colour or fabric — five minutes in the store tells you which one suits you.
Sealy
Sealy was founded in Texas in 1881 and is one of the largest mattress manufacturers in the world, known for working with orthopaedic specialists and for its patents on support systems.
What draws interest in Cyprus is its gel-infused memory foam. Classic memory foam had one well-known drawback — it holds heat. Gel particles draw that heat away from the surface, which makes these the models to look at if you sleep hot and had ruled memory foam out for that reason.
Serta
Serta is one of America's best-selling mattress brands, best known for its Perfect Sleeper range. It is also produced under licence in Turkey.
Two constructions stand out in the range: pocket springs and double-sided builds. In a pocket spring mattress every spring moves independently in its own pocket, so you are not disturbed when the person beside you turns over — the answer to the question we are asked most often about double beds. Double-sided models are turned at intervals, so the dip that forms on single-sided mattresses starts far later.
Technogel
Technogel is an Italian gel technology brand. The gel it uses was originally developed for medical use, to prevent pressure sores; it came into sleep products from there.
Gel differs from foam and memory foam in two ways: it moves heat away from the surface, and it changes shape under pressure without stiffening. In Technogel pillows, patented ventilation holes run beneath that layer so air moves through the body of the pillow as well.
In Cyprus this is more than a spec-sheet line. When summer runs six months and the night temperature does not drop, a pillow that holds heat breaks your sleep outright. It is the reason hot sleepers complain about memory foam pillows.
The Deluxe range comes in two heights, 14 cm and 17 cm. Broad-shouldered side sleepers usually go for the 17. Both have a removable antibacterial HyCare® cover — use it without the cover in summer and with it in winter.
Tempur
Tempur material grew out of technology NASA developed to protect astronauts from the pressure of launch. It was later adapted for civilian use, and the brand is today one of the few companies on the Space Foundation's certified products list.
What the material does: it softens with body heat, takes the shape of whatever touches it and spreads weight across a wide area, then slowly returns to its form when you get up. That makes a noticeable difference for people who feel pressure at one point or who sleep in a single position all night.
Tempur is not one firmness. The Original range is the most supportive; other ranges are softer. The difference cannot really be conveyed in writing — as the authorised dealer for Cyprus we have them side by side in Nicosia.
Uykucu
Uykucu is Yatsan's everyday bedding brand. Alongside the more luxurious Yatsan Maison line, it is positioned for the things that get used and washed often.
What the Uykucu products in our catalogue have in common is practicality: the duvets wash at 30°C and go in the tumble dryer on low, and the sheet sets hold the corners thanks to an elastane blend. This is the group people choose for children's rooms, guest beds and summer houses.
The bamboo duvets are the brand's best-known product. Bamboo fibre absorbs moisture and evens out body temperature — a material that makes a difference if you sweat at night. The latex pillow is filled with 100% shredded latex; its hypoallergenic structure is why people sensitive to dust mites pick it.
Velfont
Velfont is a Spanish home textile manufacturer. Its best-known product here is the Respira range of mattress protectors.
A protector's job looks trivial but is not: it keeps stains and moisture off the mattress. What most people do not realise is that most mattress warranties are void once the mattress is stained. The protector is a very cheap insurance policy on a very expensive item.
Older waterproof protectors had two complaints against them: they rustled and they made you sweat. The Respira range blocks liquid while still passing air, so those two things are no longer a trade-off.
Yatsan
Yatsan is a Turkish sleep products manufacturer known for hand-finished construction. On its upper ranges the tufting is done by hand — the practical difference from machine stitching is that the filling stays where it was put rather than shifting over the years.
The range goes well beyond mattresses: bases, headboards, bedside tables and ottomans are all made from the same fabric swatch book, which removes the risk of shade differences when furnishing a room as a whole.
We are the authorised dealer for Cyprus. Anything in the Yatsan range can be ordered through us, and the models on display can be tried at our stores.
Yatsan Maison
Yatsan Maison is the brand's home textile line: everything other than the mattress — pillows, duvets, protectors and bedding.
Most products use washable fillings. Microfibre and microgel return to their volume after washing without clumping, which makes them the choice for anyone with a down allergy or anyone who simply washes their pillows often.
