Mattresses

Mattresses from Yatsan, Tempur, Sealy, Serta and King Koil — pocket spring, memory foam and latex. All of them can be tried at our two Nicosia stores.

Choosing a mattress in Cyprus

No mattress is objectively best. The right one is the one that keeps your spine level while you sleep, and that depends on three things: your sleeping position, your weight, and what bothered you about your last mattress.

Materials, and what each actually does

  • Pocket springs: Each spring sits in its own fabric pocket and moves independently. You are not disturbed when your partner turns over, and the gaps between springs give the best airflow of any construction.
  • Memory foam (visco): Softens with body heat and takes the shape of whatever touches it, spreading weight over a wide area. The material of choice if you wake with pain at one specific point. The trade-off is heat retention.
  • Latex: Recovers much faster than memory foam, so there is no sinking feeling, and its open-cell structure passes air. In a Cypriot summer that difference is real.
  • Gel-infused foam: The answer to memory foam's heat problem — gel particles draw heat away from the surface.
  • Hybrid: Springs for support and airflow, foam or latex on top for conformity. You get both of the things a single-material mattress makes you choose between.

Firmness

A firm mattress is not automatically the healthier one. Side sleepers need the shoulder and hip to sink slightly while the waist stays supported; back sleepers need the lumbar gap filled. The heavier you are, the more support you need to get the same feel — so if two people sharing a bed differ a lot in weight, it is worth looking at double-sided or zoned models.

Sizes: 90×190 cm (single) and 150×200 / 160×200 cm (double) are the common sizes here. Custom sizes can be produced — note that changing the mattress size also changes the base, headboard and bedding sizes.

If you are not sure where to start, our mattress buying guide narrows it down, or simply call us — a few questions on the phone usually cut the list to two or three models.
